Your training tips, your blog, and your book have been very helpful, and in fact, I believe one of your tips helped get me the interview which helped get me the offer: I tried that thing where you call someone you hope to meet late at night, so they leave a voice message and they hear your name. In my case, she called me back the next day. By then, she was invested, and she forwarded my resume to all the hiring decision makers in my target company, and one of them called me within a couple days for the interview.

Holy cow !!! I got the book Sunday, read part of the book and more on Monday morning – Using what I read, I worked up a set of questions for a second phone interview for a Sr VP role today. And don’t you know it was the best interview I’ve ever had – I controlled the flow – I asked 95% of the questions, I got the invitation to come in to meet the CEOand CFO.
When “you” are the product – listen to Molly…its putting common sense to work. Its a new mindset. Molly’s insight helps you leverage what you already have and know – find out what the role is, ask the questions to determine the fit, lead the conversation – its all in your power, but it takes the mindset Molly drives home !
The interviewer thought I did a great job. I thought so too, but that’s amazing since they did most of the talking! Its a slap the forehead moment!!! I put the phone down when it was over and laughed. It was like “turning my instincts back on” ! I got the next interview.
I highly recommend Molly’s approach and “The New Job Search: Break All The Rules. Get Connected. And Get Hired Faster For The Money You’reWorth”. I’m going to reread it before my next interview prep !
Thank you!!!

I’m anxious to network with the folks from our Dallas meeting last week, especially after finishing Molly’s new book (and my new bible!).

Molly Wendell is a networker’s “Networker”. Her business is helping you to network your way to your next position. If you ever attend an event she is at, do your best to make contact with her. Don’t be surprised however if she sizes you up first a bit. As a participant in her Executives Network, I am constantly impressed by Molly’s ability to cut to the chase and get to the heart of what is holding you back. This book is pure meat, with little if any fat. The key is to understand that all of us are where we are for a reason, and sometimes it is the adversity we are facing in a job or career change that is needed to propel us forward. Unlike other job and career “consultants” Molly has started unemployment in the face (for two years) and emerged victorious. The book is well worth the money and highly recommended.

This is a great book for people who are “in transition” or who just want grow their network of contacts. Molly has done an excellent job of writing a book that’s full of great strategies and tactics as well as common sense reminders. The book covers most of the basics that you want in regards to job search (resumes, business cards, websites, working with recruiters, interviewing, etc.). However, Molly has a fresh take on many of these subjects. I found the networking suggestions the most valuable part of the book. After reading the book, I felt much more comfortable reaching out to network with people who I probably would not have prior to reading the book. Her suggestions on how to get the most out of networking opportunities was also really helpful I highly recommend this book to anyone who is in job search.

The New Job Search is a fast, entertaining book for anyone who wants to improve their job search results. If you have been doing the same thing and been expecting a different result than this book is for you. It is a different approach to finding the right job for you. Molly’s sense of humor makes the book fun, but her suggestions are invaluable.

I admit that when I saw the book I thought there probably was nothing new in here and frankly I had low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised. This is actually a very good book and while networking is not new to any of us, Molly has some great tips and valuable insight combined with some humor to keep it light. It was a pleasant and easy read, and at the same time it was very relevant and has great tips and advice throughout. I really enjoyed it, got some great insights and ideas from it and highly recommend it.
